Secretary DeVos Sends $6 Billion in Emergency Cash Grants for College Students Impacted by COVID-19
Today, April 9, U.S. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos announced that more than $6 billion will be dispersed immediately to colleges and universities in order to provide direct emergency cash grants to college students who have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, signed into law by President Trump on March 27, provides nearly $14 Billion to support postsecondary education students and institutions.
