Brown brings 20 years of tax experience in both public accounting and private industry
Boston, MA (August 28, 2019) —CBIZ, part of the nation’s 10th largest accounting and tax provider, has expanded its State and Local Tax (SALT) Practice with the addition of Ann Brown, CPA, MST. Ann has joined the company as a Senior Manager and works out of both the Boston, MA and Providence, RI offices.
Ann joins a growing practice, led locally by Tarra Curran, which specializes in state income/franchise and sales and use tax compliance and planning matters. The group also has experience in a variety of indirect tax matters, including property tax, tax incentives, and escheat matters, among other general services.

Ann has 20 years of experience in the tax industry, specializing in tax refund reviews and consulting projects. She has held leadership roles in large multistate restructuring engagements, comprehensive multistate income tax planning, nexus reviews, and capital loss reviews. Ann delivers state and local tax expertise to New England area clients with a focus in the manufacturing, communications, technology, and life sciences industries. She is well versed in the many aspects of state and local tax, including tax planning and minimization, tax risk management, and tax controversy.
Prior to joining the company, Ann was a Senior Manager in the State and Local Tax division at a global professional services company. Previously, she spent 10 years at a “Big Four” firm. Ann received a Bachelor of Science degree from Boston College Carroll School of Management, and a Master of Science in Taxation from Northeastern University.
